HouseDeepDiscoEdits

The second release on the Nijmegen label/club night Blauwdruk is here, enlisting the help of Telephones and Mario Marini to edit two 80s boogie cuts from the European mainland.

On the A-side, the Norwegian Berliner Telephones delivers an epic rework of the 1983 tune 'Sock It' by Indian-Finnish artist Jolly Kunjappu. Sax solos, extended breakdowns and synth hooks that will stick like glue; it's all there.
On the B-side, Nijmegen's Mario Marini delivers the midas touch to the lost Dutch boogie tune 'Without Love' by L & B Band. You'll instantly recognize the original this version was based on, but the synth solo and drum break give the tune a whole new life.

Pressed LOUD at Mother Tongue, Verona. Remastered and cut by Helmut Erler.
Officially licensed from the original artists.

HouseDeepVocal

Turner Club are a UK house duo who met in the North East more than 20 years ago. They head up their own label and often explore melancholic sounds with cuddly grooves, and this time they land on Jason Wilkins aka Camille's Adeen label with three hugely tasteful original cuts, with a neat remix completing the package. 'All For Free' has a heavy groove that's softened by the gentle male vocals and smeared chords. 'Hard Lovin' Me' has the astral colours and swirling ambience of classic Larry Heard again, with a tender vocal. 'Find A Way' picks up the pace with more strident drums and crisp percussion as the vocal infuses the mix with sunk-spoken warmth and soul. The Glenn Davis remix is soft-focus deep house with a nice dusty edge.

Ghost Dubs - Oblique (2x12")
PRESH030LP
Pressure
2x12inch06.10.202606.OCT.26

HouseElectroAmbientTechnoDubTechno

Since the release of DAMAGED in 2024, Michael Fiedler aka GHOST DUBS has been surfing intensifying waves of adulation, earning praise from such diverse underground legends as Justin Broadrick (Godflesh/Jesu), Regis, Stefan Betke (Pole) and Steve Von Till (Neurosis). With second album Oblique, his mastery of sculpting sound waves results in a spellbinding set of alien soundscapes: larger in scale, richer in tone and considerably more cinematic than its predecessor. Lower, deeper and moodier, its cloudy abstractions, shadowy pulsations and submerged rhythms find Fiedler reaching further into his own sonic void, crafting blurred melodies and addictive narco loops into something simultaneously heavyweight and hypnotic.

Lead single and album opener “Low Times” sets the atmospheric pressure to maximum, resembling a dream date between prime dirt-house era Andy Stott and Berlin dub-tech pioneers Basic Channel. From there, Oblique descends into a series of enchanting mood scenes: the furtive, balletic gyrations of “After All”, the haunting ambience and buried heartbeat throb of “Soft Collapse”, and the noirish atmospherics of “Blackout Dust”, which worms its way into the mind like some forgotten David Lynch scene. The spirit of reggae is more distanced here than on DAMAGED, but the ghost of Jamaican dub still permeates these foggy soundscapes, particularly on “Bombed Suburbs”, where Augustus Pablo-style melodicism is chopped, screwed and slowed into a magnetic lock groove.

Superficially minimal but maximal in its minute detail, Oblique is a record of contorted reflections, mesmeric echoes and tantalising audio mirages. By the vaporous mist of closing track “Almost a Structure”, obvious rhythm has been craftily filtered away, leaving a blurred and blunted residue full of mystery and implied narrative. Dense in the best possible sense and crushing when played loud yet equally potent played quiet, Oblique imagines dub techno burning its own rigid rulebook: sensual, funky and concussive rather than dry or alienating. Following Fiedler’s recent work scoring Sound of Falling, recognised at Cannes in 2025, Oblique finds Ghost Dubs shedding his influences and making it clear he has arrived at a sound entirely his own — essential deep listening and a bewitching dose of future shock.

Short Attention
12inch06.10.202606.OCT.26

HouseDeep

Hector Ram and Ricky Ramirez are starting to celebrate ten years of Short Attention Records and it's US house stalwart DJ Aakmael they've enlisted to pop the champagne cork and cut the cake. He's one of those artists who turns out plenty of music, much of it sounding within the same consistent deep house framework. But there's always a little something to his tunes that keeps you coming back for more - a perfectly chosen sample, a nagging bassline, a sense of melancholy that you cannot escape. All of that is true on his latest. 'Things Always Happen' has keys that convey beautiful pain, then 'If You Believe' is a deep house haze with smudgy samples and blues-y ache. 'Free' is more light with trilling jazz-funk keys and earthy guitar frets sprinkled into the mix. 'Stopmotion' shuts down with a signature Aakmael bump. Just timeless stuff.

Monolink & CIOZ - Don’t Talk To Me (w/ Omri. Remix)

Crosstown Rebels
12inch08.10.202608.OCT.26

HouseDeepNu Disco

Monolink and CIOZ bring a stripped-back electronic edge to Crosstown Rebels with ‘Don’t Talk To Me’. The German multi-instrumentalist makes his Crosstown Rebels debut alongside Italy’s CIOZ, with OMRI. also returning to the label on remix duties. There are few artists in electronic music quite like Monolink. Moving naturally between singer-songwriter, producer and live performer, his music gives as much weight to voice, melody and narrative as it does to electronic production. For ‘Don’t Talk To Me’, he joins Bergamo-born, Berlin-based CIOZ, whose own work is driven by rich musicality and a willingness to move beyond convention. The link-up makes for an intriguing signing to Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels, bringing together two different approaches to electronic music without either losing their identity.

‘Don’t Talk To Me’ is deliberately pared back, pairing Monolink’s voice and songwriting with sparse textures and gently shifting melodies. Rather than building towards a conventional dancefloor payoff, the track unfolds with a quieter sense of tension, sitting somewhere between alternative songwriting and electronic voyage. An artist whose productions and remixes have quickly made him a recurring presence in the Crosstown Rebels universe, OMRI. takes the track deeper with his remix, adding darker, hypnotic qualities while preserving the original’s restraint. ‘Wasting Time’ closes the release with another sweeping collaboration, built around subtle melodic details and captivating synth flourishes.

The collaboration marks Monolink’s first outing on Crosstown, adding to an impressive career that has seen him craft his distinctive sound via Berlin-based imprint Embassy One and on labels like Cercle Records. Performances have taken that music from Burning Man and Montreux Jazz Festival to Day Zero Bali, where he joined Damian Lazarus for its first edition, as well as sets alongside Lazarus at Club Space, Zamna and more around the world. Meanwhile, CIOZ brings his own expansive approach back to the label, with material also landing via Monaberry, Frau Blau and Stil vor Talent, plus remixes for Diplo, Oliver Koletzki, Patrice Bäumel and the Crosstown head honcho. With both artists comfortable moving between emotional depth and dancefloor function, ‘Don’t Talk To Me’ gives that shared instinct plenty of room to breathe.

TechnoTechnoBeatsAmbient

We are Excited to announce - The Department of Almost with our first full-length LP - Second Office. The Album
will be released via WSNWG on October 9th.
„Developed over extended Berlin studio sessions in January 2026, the record brings together two artists whose
respective platforms, STOOR and WSNWG, have long embraced artistic exchange and open creative practice.
Moving between crafty dancefloor material and more reflective and exploratory compositions, the album
develops a shared sonic language that extends beyond their two unmistakable, longestablished artistic voices.
Across eleven compositions, deliberate dancefloor material is elegantly intertwined with calm and spacious
soundscapes. A propulsive current gives way to passages of suspension and introspection. While rhythm and
atmosphere gradually fold into one another, the record favours gradual transformation over dramatic gesture.
The album's quieter moments open up a more contemplative space, extending its emotional register without
departing from its forward motion. Beneath, a subtle and understated sense of distance evokes spacious
environments and glacial landscapes – topographies in cold light.“
We have setup a preorder with the first Single - Fingerprints - on Bandcamp. A limited special edition will be
released via WSNWG Bandcamp on September 4th - 12.00pm CET.

This classic jam has been given a noticeably different refresh, with a show-stopping acapella intro and more of the less heard instrumental passages. Speaking of classic, on the B is 'Jammin' Up In Smoke (Ready Steady Eddie Mix)' a Harris Machine, gospel charged chuggerAwhich is given a more groove based mix, which builds up instrumentally before hitting some falsetto vocals half way through, leading to a big hands in the air finale.

Mink & Shoes' is a gooey drip of murky low slung slinky disco, falling somewhere in between smokey retro-futurism and hazy desolation.

It's a seductively squiggling romp through the outer reaches of the cosmos — sky-crawlingly atmospheric, slow-motion dance floor abstraction for acid heads and space cadets. With Navid Izadi's intoxicating vocals it's quite something, and comes in three flavours: dub, radio and original.

The voraciously prolific Brit producer Four Tet returns to his untypeable-but-highly-listenable windings alias for this surprise new album on his own Text label. Remaining as a vinyl-only LP for now, and currently limited to 2000 copies, it was announced just a week or so ahead of the release. No track titles or details and a bucket load of vibes and strange ideas. Opening softly with gentle eastern instrumentation, he gradually pulls us deeper and deeper into his unique universe with every bendy frequency and strange accent. By the time we're three tracks in, we're bopping away to big bodied dubstep/garage mutations laced with chimes and all kinds of textures that only Keiran Hebden would choose to use. The B-side bares a similar varied, opened-hearted soul as we move from bumping club grooves to slo-mo ethereal shuffles that wouldn't sound out of place in a cathedral. Textbook Text. PopLatin

The Discos Panorama series heads back to Colombia again for PAN016, pairing a heavyweight cumbia classic from Andrés Landero Y Conjunto with a wild Colombian take on one of the great Afro-funk records.

On the A-side, “La Pava Congona” is Landero in full flight. Known as El Rey de la Cumbia, Landero had that rare ability to make the accordion feel raw, hypnotic and completely dancefloor-ready. This one is all about the rolling rhythm, the call-and-response feel, and that unmistakable sabanero swing. Proper Colombian cumbia with weight behind it.

On the flip, Afrosound take on Manu Dibango’s “Soul Makossa” and send it straight from Colombia’s northern coast. Where the original is already a landmark Afro-funk groove, Afrosound bring their own Colombian flavour to it: fuzzed-out guitar, tropical percussion and loose psychedelic touches and that brilliant energy that made their records so special. A track that when we heard Hugo “Crucial Juice” spin, we knew we had to reissue.

Together, it’s exactly what the Discos Panorama series is about.

As always, PANORAMA Records is here to bring rare and essential music back into circulation with care, respect and admiration. Proper records, properly pressed, and ready for the dancers.

HouseTech

After years of building around techno, Genex is moving somewhere else.

The shift has been happening for a while. The music is becoming less about the expected function of a techno record and more about groove, movement and the details that make a track feel alive.House has always been part of the picture, but now it takes a much bigger role. Weeks & Weeks EP marks the first release from this new chapter.

It also opens the catalogue of Concrete Soul, a new label built around house and techno with soul. A place for music that can be raw without losing its character, and functional without losing the feeling behind it. Concrete Soul is about the contrast between the hard and the human, the concrete and the soul.

KYSH returns to wax with its third vinyl release — another milestone in the label’s steadily growing catalogue. More than a year and a half into the journey, KYSH feels more in its element than ever, bringing together five names that represent both the label’s own extended family and fresh acts joining the ranks. All well-established and highly respected figures in the modern techno landscape, they deliver a sharp selection of contemporary club weapons. Kashpitzky opens with “Blush”, a raw, boomy cut where rough-edged rhythmics meet crisp modern production, channeling the spirit of industrial techno at its best. “Tarmac” by Regent follows with a dense, restless groove, while Chontane’s “Gyuto” dives into hypnotic territory, layering rhythmic elements around subtle dissonant melodies. On the flipside, Temudo & Pierce join forces for the threatening, aggressively contemporary “Highest Clarity Grade”, balancing intricate sound design between rhythm and atmosphere. Closing comes GCOD with “Sleeper Agent” — dancing sub bass, a striking hook and a relentless hi-hat groove keeping the weight firmly down low. Another strong statement on wax, KYSH-003 confirms the label’s vinyl output as a mark of quality, with five floor-tested cuts drawing from a fresh, current take on the industrial influences that shaped techno a decade ago. A new lineup, a distinct direction, and five tracks ready to speak for themselves on a proper soundsystem.

Both artists hail from France, and have crafted a well-earned reputation for their own distinctive approaches to sound design - pairing locked in grooves with cosmic synth escapes. Across the EP, each artist delivers three individual takes on techno to make for an essential collection of high-end cuts, exploring the label’s ethos of creative symbiosis between two artists on one shared release. Klint’s tracks lean towards minimal yet highly effective, dance floor-focused DJ tools, starting with the lithe, stripped back menace of ‘Prism’, before the sparse eeriness of ‘Dobermann’ keeps you looking over your shoulder while remaining trapped in the groove. Third cut ‘Romance’ is more bold and muscular, with contoured drums and icy pads ramping up the tension and energy. Hemka then dives deeper into a hypnotic and anthemic direction while introducing her own voice into the mix. ‘Leave It’ is textured, percussive deep techno with shadowy whispers, while ‘Breathe’ has a dark, grinning undercurrent and scintillating snares fluttering over the drums. ‘Mindness’ then pairs spoken word atmospherics with taught drum pressure and an ethereal backlit glow. In addition, Klint's digital only cuts ‘1112’ and ‘Blue’ marry minimal synths with meticulously defined drums that hit hard, while Hemka's ‘Push’ is an anxious percussive trip, contrasting with the introspective emotional core of ‘Live To Tell’.

Renovat Records opens its vinyl catalogue with a four-track built around deep rolling rhythms, low-end pressure and deep, warm energy.

Side A brings together Remus and Drianu. Remus sets the tone with a rolling and percussive cut that moves with a deep, steady groove, while Drianu follows with a more hypnotic approach, driven by heavy sub pressure and a stripped-back, locked-in rhythm.

Side B shifts the mood through Lumieux and Vid. Lumieux brings a sharper and more kinetic edge, while Vid closes the record by slowing things down into a deeper, more spacious and dynamic trip.

Four distinct perspectives on minimal and microhouse, connected by groove, restraint and a clear focus on the dancefloor.

HouseMinimalTech

West Coast tech house had long since taken shape by the time it made its way over to the UK at the turn of the new millennium, and that's in part because of the pioneering work of the Casa Del Soul crew. The "DJ-first, producer-second collective" was founded in Denver in 1999 by a bunch of artists including DJ Darrell Foxx, who put out several records that laid out the blueprint for this raw, gritty sound across several EPs. His debut, 'The Collective EP', was one of them - two live-session, warehouse-ready tracks of low-slung and stripped-back tech with swing in the drums and dust in the percussion. The original DAT tapes were lost in a blizzard, which meant original copies have become ever more scarce and pricey on the second-hand market... until now. This fantastic remaster brings them back to life with the same distinctive rawness that made them favourites with Doc Martin and Tyrant (Craig Richards and Lee Burridge) the first time around. Utterly essential.

LP Limited Edition (500 copies) ‘Draw Out Your World” LP on Pink Marble Vinyl with signed postcard.

Caoilfhionn Rose's completely immersive fourth full-length offering - her first for Lost Map - is a powerful statement about new motherhood, strength and resilience through change and the importance of collaboration, community and placing trust in others. A softly unravelling collection of songs grown from dreamy improvisations and driving, beat-led folktronica. 'Draw Out Your World' arrives in the wake of Caoilfhionn having scored a #1 on the UK Official Independent Albums Chart, as a key contributor to Mancunian post-punk cult heroes The Durutti Column's critically-acclaimed 2026 release Renascent.

Raised in Manchester, Caoilfhionn developed a "deep, almost spiritual appreciation" of music in all its diversity. Drawing inspiration from nature, dreams, and personal experiences, she crafts songs that are both intimate and universal in their themes.
A performance at a local café caught the attention of Gondwana Records founder Matthew Halsall, who invited Caoilfhionn to work on her debut album 2018's Awaken. It became the first of three albums for the label; followed by 2021's Truly and 2024's Constellation. As a bandleader she headlined tours across the UK and Europe and has also supported artists such as Mammal Hands, The Breath, GoGo Penguin, Alabaster dePlume and Hania Rani.

Scattered ideas for what would become Caoilfhionn Rose's fourth album began accumulating long ago, in fits and starts and multiple iterations, with some tracks lying finished but unheard for years. Yet the record only truly began to take shape in the midst of a period of profound personal change. During a trip to Marrakesh, Morocco with her husband and long-time creative partner Rich Williams in January 2025, the pair spent evenings among the musicians and communities gathered beneath the night sky in Jemaa el-Fnaa. "The trip really reinvigorated us and led to lots of conversations about why we make music and why we love it," she remembers.

Several of Draw Out Your World's newest songs were born during Caoilfhionn's pregnancy with her first child. Although a deeply joyful time, she experienced severe sickness throughout, making music difficult (her voice changed so much during pregnancy that some vocals had to be re-recorded after her daughter arrived). In moments when she felt well enough, Caoilfhionn and Rich began shaping new ideas and songs from loops and fragments he had been creating, later bringing musicians together to record and remodel the compositions live in the studio. A combination of impulse and patience, individual expression and collective improvisation lies at the heart of Draw Out Your World. Four tracks emerged during two days of spontaneous invention in Copenhagen with multi-award-winning Danish electronic jazz duo Svaneborg Kardyb. Other, older pieces were patiently revisited and reworked with keyboardist John Ellis (a founding member of The Cinematic Orchestra). Caoilfhionn's ongoing collaborations with The Durutti Column have long informed her carefree approach to making music ("lots of improvising and experimenting… seeing what sticks"); here she pushes it further than ever. "It's been a lot about following my intuition and trusting in the process and musicians in the room," she says.

Started from a sweet little mini-hand-drum loop by Rich and finished with Awen Blandford's swooping cello lines, lullaby-like opener 'Reflecting The Light' was inspired by Caoilfhionn's pregnancy - "the feeling of my little girl growing inside me," as she puts it, and the almost supernatural feeling of connection to another person it brings. The much older 'Grow' - a song about how a person "keeps unfolding" through good times and bad - came close to appearing on Caoilfhionn's previous record Constellation in 2024 before finding renewed meaning and purpose here, reinvigorated by John Ellis's rolling Fender Rhodes. Set to finger-picked guitar and hazy electronics, the album's title track 'Draw Out Your World' drifts into view like a gentle parting of the clouds - a mellow but vivid reflection on dreams and realities and the pathways in between, with shades of Judee Sill and Linda Perhacs. By sharp contrast, 'Hidden Wars' - a song about trying to get away from spiralling negative thoughts - is set to a fiercely snaking groove inspired by Caoilfhionn's love of artists like Portishead and The Smile. The moodily languid and sparse 'Just To Be Alive' leans into Caoilfhionn's more electronic side, Nikolaj from Svaneborg Kardyb conjuring pure atmosphere on his swirling Juno synth, before 'To A Feeling' collides into a wild, wonky and raw jazz jam rising to Eleanor Colee's ripping saxophone solo. 'As I Find Myself Again' lands the album on a subtle ellipsis - its feeling of calm finality unsettled by the faintest flicker of a new melodic phrase at the end.

BOOTS FOR DANCING — “DANCE & RESIST”

A band born from a UK-only JBs compilation and a refusal to be bored by rockism, Boots For Dancing present “Dance & Resist” — ten tracks of funk, protest, and dancefloor testimony.

Boots For Dancing (BFD) trace their roots to probably one single record: Giving Up Food For Funk, a UK-only JBs compilation released in March 1976. The band cross-pollinated P-Funk with the raw energy of Richard Hell & The Voidoids and No Wave. They were chasing adeliberate drift away from the “1,2,3,4” boredom of rockist punk, and toward something else entirely, band members all pulling in different musical directions.

The band came up during the era of the euphemistically-named Standard Music Business Contract — young, naive, and part of Thatcher’s mass youth unemployed, willing to be exploited by the “honest capitalism” of the music industry with little expectation of reward. Anything to get off the Giro.

About the Album

The title Dance & Resist captures the band’s guiding contradiction: that you can acclaim and celebrate something while still seeking to change, challenge, disrupt, or overturn it — the same spirit found decades later in people doing the Electric Slide at BLM protests.

LIMITED PRESS ACT FAST

Ever-evolving Amsterdam duo ANOTR continue their forward momentum with the release of their highly anticipated third studio album, ‘Withness’, out via their own imprint No Art. Rooted firmly in dance music, ‘Withness’ sees the pair refine their sound into their most dance-floor focused and cohesive project to date.

Born during their global tour, ‘Withness’ was shaped in real time: written, tested and refined on dancefloors across the world. Following the expansive, genre-blurring approach of their 2025 LP ‘On A Trip’, the duo felt a pull back toward the club - not as a limitation, but as a unifying space. “We really wanted to have a wide variety of songs that we can play out and create moments,” they explain. “Every track needed to make sense wherever people come together to dance.”

That intention sits at the heart of ‘Withness’. A title that reimagines the idea of “witnessing” into something more active and collective. ‘Withness’ is an album about experiencing life with others. It’s about the moments you share, the people who shape them, and the energy that becomes real only when you’re fully present. The album captures the collective high of friendship. Whether in a packed club, at a festival, or in a living room with friends, the album is designed to soundtrack moments of connection.

“The memories you make with people, they’re the witness of those moments. Withness is about being in it together.” - ANOTR

Sonically, the album marks a clear evolution. Drawing from their early club roots while building on the songwriting confidence developed on their previous records, classic drum machines and 909 samples sit alongside warm, 80s-tinged textures, layered vocals and modern production techniques, creating a sound that feels both nostalgic and forward-thinking.

A key part of the process was spontaneity. The duo embraced a free-flowing, collaborative studio environment, often working with a rotating cast of contributors. Their now-signature “open mic” approach encouraged anyone in the room to experiment with melodies, lyrics and vocal ideas. This energy translates directly into the album’s standout moments. From the euphoric pull of ‘Withness’ to the groove-led ‘Do It With Ya’, the uplifting ‘Paradise’, each track is built to live beyond a single setting.

The LP comes at a timely moment, as their single ‘Talk To You ft. 54 Ultra’ has become the biggest global breakout dance single this year. Sitting firmly in Spotify’s Global Top 200, it has surpassed 175 million streams, and is currently No. 21 in the UK Singles Chart. Spotify have tipped it in their much-coveted global ‘Sound Of The Summer 2026’ list and other highlights include peaking at No. 7 in Shazam’s Global Chart, No.1 on Beatport Top 100 and gaining over 600M UGC views so far.

Max Cooper delivers the latest instalment in the acclaimed fabric presents series, marking a landmark release as the first tracks to be presented in Spatial Audio. Fusing his signature blend of emotive electronica, immersive sound design and club-focused energy, the project captures Max’s ability to bridge the gap between cutting-edge technology and deeply human storytelling. Featuring exclusive material alongside carefully curated selections, the mix places him alongside previous fabric presents contributors including Daniel Avery, Overmono, Helena Hauff and Mount Kimbie, while pushing the series into new sonic territory.

Leading the accompanying EP is Flecks, a collaboration with LSB that pairs fast drum & bass breaks with Max Cooper’s unmistakable immersive production. Referencing the iconic Hurt You So break, the track fuses old-school jungle influences with a modern, spatial mix, hypnotic synth lines and subtle vocal fragments draw the listener deeper into its expansive soundscape. Also featured is Bredren’s Hash (Max Cooper Remix), a tension-filled drum & bass track built around distorting basslines and constantly evolving movement.

The EP's focus track, AO, sees Max Cooper reunite with Rival Consoles for a more introspective moment. Swapping high-tempo breaks for a slower electronica and house framework, the track unfolds through beautifully detailed percussion, organic rhythmic textures and sweeping synth melodies, culminating in a soaring central passage that showcases the pair's shared gift for emotionally resonant electronic composition.

Released via fabric Records, fabric presents: Max Cooper represents another evolution of the long-running series, a release that is equally at home on immersive listening systems and the dancefloor.

The mission is complete.
With the landing behind him, the astronaut begins spreading the sound of Planet Tapes across the planet.
What was once a distant destination is now alive with sound, light and movement. The music starts to travel, bringing different identities, energies and visions together on the same frequency.
Signals of Unity captures this exact moment: four artists, four different messages, one shared destination.

A1 – Mirko Felicioli – Sin City
Mirko Felicioli opens the record with a strong and distinctive statement, built around tension, groove and a sharp sense of movement.
A2 – Mathi – Starship
Mathis continues the transmission with Starship, a cut suspended between movement, imagination and futuristic drive.
B1 – Two Opposites – Tormento
The label captains return with Tormento, combining energy and emotion in a track built for movement, while keeping their unmistakable approach to electronic music.
B2 – Ginno – Void
Gianko closes the record with Void, a deep and evocative final passage that lets the signal drift beyond the dancefloor.

Four artists. Four signals. One planet.
The music has spread.
The people have gathered.
The party has begun.

TechnoTechno

Tooflie's anonymous archivists return for another trip through the past, this time leaving geography behind for the unruly musical landscape of the 1980s. Four edits bring together the creme de la creme of Polish rock, Danish new wave, Soviet avant-garde and Georgian synth-pop, giving each source a fresh dancefloor angle while keeping what made the original so distinctive. A Balearic rework, an Hi-NRG treatment and two more leftfield interventions turn these unlikely archival finds into records that work just as well at home as they do on a larger system. The original records behind these edits are notoriously hard to find, making Tooflie 008 a rather useful detour for diggers and collectors, as well as anyone with a soft spot for overlooked musical oddities.

After a three year break, Blawan and Pariah’s Voam is back with “Piranha Pop”, a new EP from Rhyw. From the teeth rattling madness of “Suppli Crush” to the slinky oddness of the title track, these four tracks explore and push up against the outer fringes of techno music and mark a worthy follow up to his previous release on the label, 2022’s acclaimed “Honey Badger”.

‘Better Over Time’ represents a major next chapter
for BigX. Built around the idea that every action
has a result, the project explores what happens
after you get everything you wanted, including the
pressure, sacrifice and unexpected consequences
that can come with success.

The team is building a connected creative world
around the music, with the intention of creating
one album, one story and one film. The broader
campaign is expected to include cinematic
performance content, a connected short film and
music video narrative, physical product, retail
activations and immersive fan experiences

‘ROSEBUD’ is the tenth album from Current Joys,
the solo project of Surf Curse drummer Nick
Rattigan - and his boldest reinvention yet.
Written during a difficult period and reworked
alongside producer never goodbye (Danny
Dwyer), the record transforms a set of strippedback slowcore songs into a maximalist collage of
nu metal, screamo, electronica, hip-hop, powerpop, emo and darkwave.
Big anthemic hooks shouted through layers of
static, punk chord progressions chewed up by
digital manipulation and moments of striking
tenderness underneath the noise.
It’s also a milestone: ‘ROSEBUD’ is the first album
Rattigan is self-releasing, via his own imprint They
Are Evil, after years on Secretly Canadian - a
return to the artistic freedom of his early
Bandcamp days.
